RITA MAALOUF

CO-FOUNDER

Rita MAALOUF is a co-founder of Heliopolis and researcher at UMR-CNRS "LADYSS" emphasis in Socio-economic issues of digital revolution and their consequences on territories. The objective of this study is to demonstrate that an intangible space is being formed in parallel to the nation states.
Rita has over 20 years of experience leading startup and high-growth companies and public figures.
In Lebanon, she studied at the Notre-Dame College in Jamhour which is run by the Jesuit fathers.
After having fled Lebanon during the civil war of 1989, she registered as a free candidate for the French Baccalaureate series S. She passed it with honors.
Rita has held various management positions in consultancy within large European banks and investment funds. As such, she served as the vice-president of a large international banking group until late 2011.
She lives in Paris and graduated from the École Supérieure des Arts Modernes where she specialized in 3D animation and computer graphics techniques. She is also a graduate of École Supérieure des affaires (ESA) and École Supérieure de Commerce in Paris (ESCP-EAP), as she holds respectively a masters degree in Marketing and Communication (2003) and another masters degree in Financial and Fiscal Engineering (2007).
Based on her interest in geopolitical issues, she studied at the Institute for Higher National Defence Studies (IHEDN).
The financial crisis and its aftermath have led her to become involved in politics in order to express her convictions and help her country. “Finance-serving economic issues”, understanding and an open mind attitude towards other cultures, respect for human differences and identities, the concepts of equality and solidarity: all these topics are appropriate approaches that can give globalization a chance.

YVES DANBAKLI

MACRO-ECONOMIST AND PUBLIC FINANCE EXPERT

As a macro-economist and public finance expert with the European Union, Yves has intervened as a team leader in several regions, including in Eastern Europe, the Arab Maghreb, southern Africa and the Middle East, in order to initiate public finance management reforms. He is also a professor at the École de la Bourse in Paris.
He holds a post-graduate diploma in economics (DESE/CNAM specializing in finance), and has worked in international finance. He is the co-author in 2013 of an essay on the financial analysis of government accounts: « Essai d’analyse financière des comptes publics » (Essay on the financial analysis of government accounts in French), Revue Banque N° 751, November 2012 and Revue de Finances.
It is an advanced method that adapts financial analysis rules in the private sector to the public sector, including the financial analysis of balanced budgets (expenditures and income) in public accounts. As a writer, he is currently working on his fourth novel relating a family saga in the eventful East from the end of the 19th century to the mid-20th century.

KIM TORBEY

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Kim is a Graphic Designer with a pretty diverse background: from website and apps, to brochures, newsletters, videos and social media, her goal is to master them all.
She graduated with a bachelor in Graphic Design at the American University of Beirut, and went on to work on digital and printed projects in Beirut, Paris and London. Her years of experience as a Freelancer means she can lead projects from conception to completion in a variety of mediums and sectors.
She’s since earned certifications in Digital Marketing as well as Project Management and enjoys putting her newly acquired skills to use to help brands expand and accomplish their goals.
